We are saddened to learn and report the passing of Go-Go powerhouse Valentino “Tino” Jackson, who succumbed to his battle with cancer on October 11, 2019.
Mostly known for his many years of work with the Go-Go band Experience Unlimited (EU), Tino’s distinctive heavy metal laced style of playing his guitar added strong presence to the overall Experience Unlimited sound for the past several decades. With early songs such as “EU Freeze”, “Knock’em Out, Sugar Ray” and “Ooo La La La” (the latter of which he also sang lead vocals on) he helped define their sound through the 80s, 90s and new millennium.
As a fellow musician and a good friend, we were blessed to have been able to cover Tino quite a few times through the TMOTTGoGo platform, to include the cover of the January 2016 issue of TMOTTGoGo magazine and an episode of TMOTTGoGo’s True Go-Go Stories (see below).
We ask at this time that you keep the family and friends held in your prayers, as we go through this moment in time.
