Nearly a week of critical care in a New Jersey hospital is doing wonders for Tracy Morgan, who was involved in a six-car accident that killed one man last Saturday.
While he remains in critical condition, his medical team confirms he is in stable condition and is “optimistic that his recovery is progressing.”
Spokesman Lewis Kay said Thursday “was a better day.”
Morgan’s family and fiancé have been by his side since Saturday as he has dealt with broken ribs, a broken leg, a broken femur and bruises. The comedian had surgery on his leg just days after the accident which put him in better condition as of Friday morning.
One man died in the fatal crash. James McNair, who was in Morgan’s limo bus, was killed in the impact. Morgan’s assistant as well as another comedian, Ardie Fuqua Jr. were injured in the crash.
The drive who caused the crash, Kevin Roper, reportedly hadn’t slept for over 24 hours as he crashed into slow moving traffic on Saturday morning. He has been charged with death by auto and assault by auto.
