Soulful Songtress Teena Marie Passes Away at the age of 54

Teena Marie, the award-winning singer-songwriter known for such R&B classics as “Fire & Desire”, “Young Love”, “Casanova Brown”, “Square Biz,” “I Just Want To Be Your Lover Girl”, and “Dear Lover”, passed away.

According to renowned news journalist Roland Martin, “No cause of death has been provided in the death of Teena Marie. Her manager, Mike Gardner, said her body is at the coroner’s office. But Marie’s publicist, Lynn Jeter, told me that a month ago, Teena Marie suffered a grand mal seizure while watching a movie in her bed.”

“Her manager said that she was found earlier today at her California home by her daughter.”
