WASHINGTON – Metro is moving closer to a deal with Google that would bring riders information on train and bus scheduling, as well as other options.
Basically, Metro would give Google its scheduling information so you could use the application known as “Google transit” to plan trips. It works the same way you would plan a trip in your car, getting directions from Google maps.
Metro says it is close to a deal with Google, but not all the way there yet.
There are some legal issues to work out.
Other large, transit systems including New York City already have agreements with Google.
