In a city where a major complaint across most genres of entertainment is a lack of support, the instructions were clear. DMV artists only, submit your music. A cast of producers, DJs, photographers, graphic artists, rappers and other entertainers gathered at Martins Lounge in NW DC on Thursday, January 5th for the ultimate networking event, the #DMVmixer.
Sponsored by Oy Boyz Records and THESXC.COM, #DMVmixer Vol. 1 provided hours of music by several DMV artists such as Tony T, Andru Ayoub, Hard Workin Ent, Summer Azul, Hollywood & MOB, Fat Trel, Jae Millz and $kate just to name a few. The platform provided entertainers the opportunity to mingle, network, display talent and promote their projects face to face.
Asked if there were plans for similar events in the future, Suni answered “Yes, we are currently planning #DMVmixer Vol.2. We are going do the same thing, invite everyone in the city that deals with the arts to come out to display their skills and talent in an open forum.”
