The celebrations continues to flow for the godfather Chuck Brown, as he joined the National Symphony Orchestra for its annual Labor Day weekend concert on the Capitol lawn.
The NSO Pops hosted the “Legends of Washington Music” concert on Sunday evening, which celebrate the music of the nation’s capital with tunes by DC natives John Philip Sousa, Duke Ellington, and Chuck Brown.
This free concert was on the Capitol’s west lawn. And along with Chuck’s performances were Duke Ellington’s granddaughter, Mercedes Ellington, who also performed with the orchestra during a section devoted to Ellington’s jazz.
