Hotterthanmost.com Reports -
Hotterthanmost.com was pleasantly surprise when they happened upon a secluded spot in Sterling VA to see Lola Monroe (aka Angel Lola Luv) make her rap debut. I had been pumping her mix CD “The Lola Monroe Chronicles – The Art Of Motivation” all day. Lola took on some big shoes. She jumped on track with the likes of Jadakiss and Trina.
All we knew Lola for was the music videos, so this was a new side. She definitely has the drive to be taken seriously. She took on many sides on the CD. She spit hard on tracks like Get Up (50 Cent instrumental) and over Beanie Sigel’s “I Can Feel It In The Air”. She spits sexy on tracks like No Panties and Beyonce’s Diva.
We sat down and spoke with Lola on a few topics…
Jay Billion : There are alot of female artists trying to break into the hip hop business. What are you going to be doing that is different?
Lola Monroe : The fact that I am from the DMV. My story, me as a person. A lot of that plays a part in what I can bring to female rap period.
Jay Billion: A lot of the females come hard, some come sexy. What position will you pose in the game?
Lola Monroe : Reality. Real shit. Sexuality, I mean every female has a sexual side to her. So I am not saying that I am not gonna have that in my music. For example my mixtape thats out right now Lola Monroe Chronicles – Art of Motivation is a representation of what my music is about, and what I am about.
Its not a character that I have to create or a kind of gimmick. I don’t have to do that.
Jay Billion : Are you already signed to a label?
Lola Monroe : I am currently under my own label that I have with my manager Michelle Vierya, Blue Rose Ent. Yeah but I have several offers on the table right now.
Jay Billion : When can we expect a full length studio album of original content?
Lola Monroe : Well this mixtape actually has a lot of original content. I am currently working on content for my album, which I will be dropping next year. But I will also drop another mixtape before I drop my album. So definitely stay tuned. I’ve got some good stuff coming.
