If you’re going to deliver to the world some of your homegrown flavor, why not give it to them live and not just samples of it?  At least that’s the way rapper Wale brought it when he took it to the BET Hip-Hop Awards’ stage.  Instead of flavoring the stage with sprinkles of Backyard Band’s Dope Jam shots, UCB let the keyboards do the talking.  And instead of filling the air with sampled hooks of Backyard Band’s vocalist Weensey singing “Pretty Girls,” the stage was greeted by Weensey himself.

I can dig it!

Backyard Band live outside at Motorcross Event in Maryland 5-15-08.

This documentary is an exploration of the role of DC’s go go community in helping to stem the violence in Washington’s neighborhoods and help spread a positive message to the city’s youth. Working with the Metropolitan Police Department, various members of the go go scene offered their insights and thoughts on the ways that they can help reduce these issues. Includes appearances by Chuck Brown, Raheem Devaughn, Sugar Bear, Lil Benny, Chucky Thompson, Binta Campbell, Rick Ross, Mike Love, and others. Note that this is Part 1 of two parts

Backyard Band Live @ Club U - 2003

It was Anwan “Big G” Glover’s Birthday Celebration.
The band had jumped into the old school RE “Roll Call” groove and was honored with a guest appearance by legends Jas. Funk & Little Benny, who paid tribute to the Ghetto Prince.

TMOTTGoGo DVD Magazine was originally released in 2003. This was the only DVD Magazine released by TMOTTGoGo, as well as the very first Go-Go DVD Magazine to ever be released.
